Canarian Lobsters April 27, 2007

Posted by cbs in : Aquatic Wildlife Tenerife , trackback

Most people are familiar with the clawed lobsters found in many parts of the world. If you havn’t chased them on a dive you may well have eaten them with egg yolks, sherry, and an oven browned cheese crust in Lobster Thermidor.

Much rarer is the Canarian Lobster a looking strange creature which more resembles a giant wood louse and has lost it’s claws. They are really difficult to spot having a carapace that resembles rock. On a recent dive we were lucky enough to spot on and have a camera.
