Tabiba celibrates recovery of Allan’s lost fin-Strap July August 10, 2009
Posted by TheBoss in : Customers, Uncategorized , add a commentOk maybe a slight exageration…..A number of us had gone to Tabiba, East cost of Tenerife, to do a couple of dives one late afternoon the other as a nite dive. Tabiba is home to the wreck of El Raton an ocean going tug. What none of us had realised was that night Tabiba were holding their fiesta to the Vigin Mary along with fireworks and decorated boats.
So first dive and there was a slight “Oh no not again” as we encountered more trigger fish but they seemed more curious this time , rather than trying to head butt any of us.
So we sat around awaiting for sunset watching the festivities and entered the water at about 9.30pm. Bimbling around the top of wreck at about 25m we started hearing low dull thuds … what the ?? …looking at each other….and then looking up at the surface we saw great patches of first white then yellow ??? Then suddenly it twigged what we were hearing and seeing were fireworks being set off some 1.5 Km away!! This went on for some 20mins and some of us surfaced just in time to see the end of the firework display.
Definatley a first for me and everyone else on the dive.
Neil, Nick, Allan & Dolphins – July August 2, 2009
Posted by TheBoss in : Customers , add a commentI don’t know what we do to people but despite our best efforts they keep coming back….!!! These three repribates experienced divers all just love it here. What a week/10 days….so without further delay…with new resturants opened in the harbour it’s now a short step off the boat to get food and drinks.
Trigger fish can be a little territorial as they found out at Neptunes Cave when three of the little darlings refused to leave them alone.
Lots of the usual suspects Big Atlantic Rays, Roncadores and then something special.
The guys were just droping down the anchor line to dive the Meridian and Andy was on the surface when a pair of Dolphins came towards the boat. I told Andy who sped down the line to tell the others. The pair of Dolphins then stayed around the boat buzzing the divers for about 20 mins.
An unreal dive was everyone comments.
