El Hierro 2008 June 7, 2008

..

So following the party and diving in Tenerife six of us made our way out to El Hierro. Neil and Tracey “Yorkshire Tight Wad and Nursey Nursey” along with a friend of theirs Lee and Nick Cickmore, Mark and myself jumped on the ferry for the 2.5 hr journey to El Hierro.

Now El Hierro used to be the most westerly point of the known world, La Restinga which is the most southernly point on the island is home to a couple of hundred people and that’s it. Or a ” One horse town” as Mark described it.

The diving as usual was superb high lights include free swimming globe fish, 2.5m camera friendly grouper, tuna and a shoal of Chopas. (Black fish 1/2 m long 15+kg in weight each)

Add into this a meal as the sun goes down in a beach resturant as the sun goes down what more could you want?

All being well we will be running another trip later in the year

Party Time Oh yea…!!! June 7, 2008

Five years on Tenerife, two birthdays ending in zero and a new born son! Party time we thought and its fancy dress, no diving related costumes allowed. “Der Mangement” at Tenerife Scuba would like to thank all those people who managed to get away from gainful emply to attend. Also to Westhavenbay for agreeing to host the bash and for their help and hospitality and frantic running around when things almost went horribly wrong due to over booking of the acts. A special thanks to familly for getting here.

We have hundreds of photos from the evening along, with bits of video which will be edited and available on DVD in due course. In the mean time here is a little taster of the evening’s events.

You know that things have gone well when people turn around and say “When you throw a party you really know how to throw a party!”

Thank you all for being there.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the slow reply, been unfortunately busy with ‘normal’ life rather than proper fun stuff like diving with you lot!!

Had a fantastic three days (too short!!) diving, particularly enjoyed feeding the rays after the initial shock of having them crawling up my leg begging for sardines! Am unfortunately even more addicted than before now and can’t wait for the next diving adventure, maybe Croatia in June, and are already planning a return to Tenerife Scuba in October! My photos have improved thanks to Chris’s tips but still not as good as the ‘master’ himself. But do have a couple of amusing ones I think, hopefully I will be able to attach them to this?… No can’t figure out how to attach photos… Can someone help?
