This bunch of reprobates all returning customers came to warm up from a long UK winter, which seemed to have gone on forever….

Asides from Dolphins, seperate post, loads of fun and great diving. There are times when this is not so much a business just getting wet with friends.

Dolphins by the Boat 20th May 2010

For those of you who may not be aware there are permanently resident pods of Pilot Whales and Dolphins between Tenerife and La Gomera ( next Island over) Every so often they do come in close to land and you get the chance to see them up close. Normally though they like to play games and tease….

Not today on our way over to dive the “caves at Palm Mar” about 100m from the shore, we were joined by a pod of about 1/2, couple of really big males, who stayed with us for about 15 mins playing and riding the bow wave on the RIB. We had these guys and gals just about an arms length away at one stage.

Typically the one shot I didn’t get was when a large male rolled over while riding the bow wave to show me his white belly and have a look….lots of very happy people.

Tim and Liz, both returning customers, decided to swap the snow and cold of the UK for more temperate climbs bringing with them Julie and Dave …hello Dave!!!!

Lots of general hilarity was had by all including Dave who racked up his 50th dive dressed as “Boy Wonder” . We won’t mention the snog on the Merdian !!!! Opps

Whale and Dolphin watching now in Las Galletas

For those of you who don’t know there are permanently resident pods of Pilot whales and Dolphins between here and La Gomera, the next of the Canary Islands if you head west and north a bit. There are a number of boats which run trips out to see these animals with most of the boats based in Puerto Colon. With the opening of the harbour here in Las Galletas the owners of the Muscat have decided to relocate.

Now I will freely admit that I have been a bit anti these trips in the past, partly as Puerto Colon is a bit of a pain to get to from Las Galletas and I’m not into booze cruises, which some operators run them as.

Having said that I’ve changed my mind. The guys on the Muscat know what they are doing and it’s a good way to see these animals and blow off gas at the same time.

Before any of you ask we can’t run the RIB out there to dive with them sorry

If anybody fancies a trip drop let us know as we have negociated special prices for Tenerife Scuba customers.

You know when you are doing something right when people keep coming back despite your best endevours…ha ha !!!

He was right…. she was and despite not ideal conditions Mia had a great time. Sorry Stewart you know what the Christmas present is going to be this year.
